Rent freeze affects 60 Catalan cities
RENTAL FLOOR OWNERS FACE € 90,000 FINES IF THEY INCREASE THE RENT.
Owners face fines of € 3,000 to € 90,000 if the rents paid by previous tenants increase in new rents or if they exceed the average rent for the area set by the Generalitat's benchmark index.
The Spanish Government could paralyze the application of the Law if it presents an Appeal before the Constitutional Court.
