THE CONGRESS DEFINITELY APPROVES THE LAW OF EUTHANASIA
Goes into effect in three months - June 2021
It may be requested by persons of legal age who suffer "a serious and incurable disease" or a "serious, chronic and incapacitating condition" that affects their autonomy and generates "intolerable physical or psychological suffering".
They must submit their request twice in writing and after two deliberative processes and if they meet the requirements, they will receive aid to die around 35 days later.
Help to die will be provided in health centers, both public and private, or at the home of the patient.
It includes the creation of a Guarantee and Evaluation Commission in each autonomy, which must authorize it and which must be ready when the rule comes into force in June. It is an organization that is not contemplated in other countries where euthanasia is decriminalized, which is added to the authorization that two different doctors must carry out.
